I have a KAE, running on R12. System works great, love my R12. I'm about to do an SR swap. I won't have AC right off the bat, but when I track down a compressor...what refrigerant does it use? Is it R12 or R134? I'm gonna take my car to an AC shop and have them suck out my R12, and if the SR compressor is R12 then I will have them issue me a credit for my R12 when I come back to them to have them do my AC lines. If it's 134 then I'll just sell them my R12 outright. Basically, I don't want to convert to 134 if I don't have to. I've searched and not found anything, it's all about mounting the compressor, and there's nothing in the FAQ. I've talked to a few people with SR's but they're not running AC. :/ Anyone know?

The KA A/C compressor should mount up perfectly to the SR just use the SR mounting bracket. That way you don't have to dis charge the A/C and it will work just fine.

The SOHC KA does not even come close to bolting up, the DOHC KA only like 2 of the 4 bolts line up or something.

So we have one vote R12 and one vote R134 lol

My bad, didn't read the KAE part in the beginning... But unless it's an S14 black top, it will be r12
