I have a S14 and I was wondering which SR I should get. Should I get a S14 SR20 because I have a S14 or are the early red/black top a choice to go with? Before I get " FL " I did use search and I couldn't find anything that helped me out with this question.

Thanks for the help.

It's up to you what you want. You need to weigh the pro's and con's of each series of motor which is primarily cost per performance and what your end goals will be. Secondly, since you drive a 95, you should be lucky enough to have an ODB1 car which will help you in swapping the motor in. ODB2 cars tend to be a b1tch to swap in.

Sounds good. I will do that. I thought maybe if a got a s13 redtop that I would need to do more than if i used a s14 motor( a/c PS etc ).

Redtops are alot cheaper so that makes me more prone to go with that motor. If I change things like the turbo there might be no reason for me to get the s14.

Thanks for the help.

That's kind of the old school consensus. If you want to make big power goals, why spend the extra money on the S14/S15 SRs. If you want to max the stock setup, the S14/S15s would be the better buy.

I've seen S14s use an S13 SR and keep the US A/C compressor. I think the only major power steering mod we had to deal with was the low pressure hose going into the pump. That was just a length of parker push-loc hose to solve.
