I have a chance to pick up a clean fastback with a ka in it and a sr20de blacktop with it. I know its not turbo but the car is very clean. The guy I am buying it from has no clue about 240's so he cant anwser technical questions. The question I have is why is the throttle body towards the rear of the motor. The guy said it was a rwd sr but Im not sure. If anybody can look at these pics and tell me that would be great.

Ok I went and looked at the motor today. It defintly has a fwd intake manifold but a rwd transmission, exhaust manifold, and motor mounts. Also every picture I have found of fwd sr's the alternator is on the left of the motor and power steering pump is on the right. On this motor alternator is on the right and power steering is on the left just like the KA. Please let me know what else I can look for. I am most likely buying the car and the motor comes with it I just need to know for sure if it is fwd or rwd. Also I will post pics of the transmission tonight.

You won't be able to use that engine, even if the transmission bolted right on, the distributor would be hitting the firewall.
