So for the last couple of days, I have noticed that I have had some more turbo lag than usual. Well, today I was headed home from work and I noticed a sound that I have never heard before. After I heard this noise, I pulled over and poppped my hood to see if I could hear where it was maybe come from. I got back in my car and gave it a little throttle and held it. My boost/vacuum gauge went up to 5 inHg and while I was holding the throttle at like 3000 rpm, the vacuum level dropped(like there was a leak) and went back down to 19 inHg where it is at during idle. The noise sounds horrible(almost like a clicking/grinding combined) when driving but when it is at a stop and I give it a little throttle, it sounds just like air is moving. I looked at the piping connectors on my side mount intercooler piping and everything was tight and looked good. I had a friend look at it with me and he wasnt even sure as to what it could be either. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks

bump for a good friend! we think it may be a major boost leak, but are confused as to why it would just all the sudden show up out of the blue, we checked all the intercooler couplings and stuff we could see last night and didnt find anything out of the ordinary. does anyone have any ideas on what this may be?

we are doing a boost leak test soon, but still throw out any ideas you may have.
