I had my red top Sr20det in my car for about 6 months. Recently, i got a problem with it. When i fullystep on gas in second gear, the car seems like don't want to run....like there is something pull it from the back. The rpm rise slowly and the speed rise slowly. It happen sometime only. But the boost reading is rising. If i release the gas a little bit, it will accelarate slowly, and the pulling feeling gone. Anyone knows what happen in my car?

sounds like an airflow meter problem you need to do an accel sweep and see if the voltage drops off on hard accel.

you want to watch the voltage on the tester during the voltage sweep. You check voltage on the center wire of the airflow meter. it should be between 1.3 volts to 1.5 volts at idle and go over 4volts when you snap throttle it. A DSO would be the best way to test this but I suspect you dont have one. It is a graph meter. if the voltage does not go up to 4 your airflow meter is not reading right. The problem here is it should lack power in any gear when you acelerate at full throttle not just second. a manual trans wont change engine response in any 1st or 2nd so It would not be trans related. Really stupid question here but your not by chance accedently shifting to 4th gear are you?

he hydro locked the engine most likely. the rods are probably toast. sometimes you get lucky. if you take the plugs out and crank it over it will blow all the water out . Throw new plugs in it and see how it runs.
