I've been working on an SR problem for some time now, and I must confess I'm completely stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

Car: S13 redtop into S14 chassis, SAFC, Z32 mafs, fmic, stock everything else

Problem: car idles/runs very rich, then goes lean when I try to get into boost.

Things I've checked:

MAFS/wiring - good, replaced old maf w/z32 to be sure, revs over 3k rpms

Injectors - no leaking as far as i know, pulsing like crazy though

Ignition - getting spark, timing set correctly using timing mode

CAS - Switched from old brken one, seems to test out ok per FSM

ECU - swapped with two other ecus, one functions exactly the same, one doesn't start and throws code 14 (VSS) and 21 (ignition switch) ???

Wiring harness - wiring performed by swapwiring.com, everything I've tested so far seems good

Vacuum leaks - tested, no leaks found, replaced wastegate on turbo earlier because it was leaking bad

Spark plugs - raw fuel, cylinders getting flooded

It seems like the injectors are being told to fire to often, what causes this?

this is my setting

safc setting 6 in 2 out. idle setting low point 750 rpm +16, high 0. idle should be 14.7-16.0. high throttle point , 3000rpm-5000 +5-+7. 5500rpm- 7500 0- +1

a/f should be 12.7 then drop to 11.8, maybe 11.6 sometimes.

if you keep running lean, check your fuel pump. my walboro when bad after driving for 1500 miles. its would somehow crap under full throttle.

Did you try removing the SAFC, swapping the Z32 maf for a stocker, and seeing how it ran?

You need to get rid of the Z32 Maf. There's no need for it unless your pushing some serious HP. I had one myself and it only cost me more problems and $$$. Put the stock Sr. or get a Ka Maf.

Oh yea, I almost forgot. Get rid of the SAFC too. Notice mine are for sale too.

The main issue is having the ECU setup and calibrated for the Z32 maf.

Serious hp? Um, try any car making more than 250 whp should use a z32 maf.

To OP, something is causing the injectors to fire funny. Do what Codyace said and then come back if the problem is still there.
