Ok well ive been havein a problem now for a few months, where the car will run perfect for a while..but then out of no where it will start to bogg like it has a boost leak..but it isnt a boost leak. it still boost to 10psi and doesnt drop . so i dont think its the turbo...but it weird cause it doesnt always do it...sometime i can be drivin for hours and it doesnt do it once. some one told me it could be the timing or ECU but i dont think its the ecu

Does it act up when the engine is warm and cold? It could be your IACV valve needing some cleaning.

when you say bog you dont mean it just idles down and dies do you? you mean it will start running bad such as misfiring and then idle down correct? you may want to check your fuel injectors to see if they are opening properly. also check into your coilpacks. are you running rich at all? you can try cleaning your maf. another thing you can do is just check to make sure your ecu is good..do this by turning your key on and you will see a l.e.d. in the back which will be lit up when the key is on..when you start the engine it should go off..if it doesnt go off then you have a bad ecu..also if the light does go off which means a good ecu go ahead and check for codes......by the way i think its safe to say your sig is a little bit to big

i just checked my ecu...the light goes out after i start the car...so i take it the ecu isnt bad....im thinkin it could be the coil packs cuz it does kinda seem like its running on 3 cylinders whens its hesitating/bogging. how can u test the coil packs to see which one is bad. sorry if i sounds dumb, im still somewhat new with this. thanks for the help.

get a multi-meter and check for voltage and continuity...also check your ecu for codes now..also check your ignitors voltage at the computer and continuity on both sides

hey dcmxsa you aren't alone... my red top does the same thing... i've never felt it in any other cars ive owned (3 turbo's so far) i've checked my ecu, cleaned the maf, air filter, changed fuel pumps, and all the other simple stuff and it hasn't changed... its the most random thing, it doesn't seem to discriminate between driving conditions or temperatures, it could be the middle of the day in traffic or at 3am in 60deg weather... and then i could drive for 3 hrs straight in the heat and it runs like a champ... to describe it better (hopefully) it feels like you're driving an automatic transmission up a hill... but its very intermittent so i doubt its a clog... imho its electrical...

and vta is vent to atmosphere

this sounds a little different fromt he problem i have sometimes...but wut MAF and wut plug do u have? I have the SR plug with the connector cut to fit a SOHC MAF(sr plug is 1 prong bigger than sohc MAF) and i don't have a bracket for my intake/maf tube. My MAF if i move around fiddle with the wires the car will bog/hessitate and run like crap. It happens sometimes when i go over too many or a big bump and it shifts/jumbles around my maf/intake tube. So i need to pull over, get it into the "hot spot" or correct position and all is fine again. Probably not your guys problems but its something i'de look into.

holy crap im having the same prob. i just got my car today and it does the same thing. i swapped the engine in and had someone else do the wiring. since he did the wiring hes been trying to figure why its doing that. he said he went over everything and that it was probably a bad maf. so i got a new redtopmaf and tried that. it runs alittle better. but it still does that bogging out. but i told him ill deal with it. so now im in the same predicament. he thinks its carbon build up in the engine. but i dont think so.im in the same boat and dont no what to do.

you guys need to check your ecu for codes..your engine has to be driven to have a code stored so if you guys are driving it even though you have a few problems im sure there will be a code...blackie black check all the things i told dcmxsa to check as well..and are you both of you guys having any idle problems...i mean sitting at a light will it die out?

mine seems to idle fine...it only seems to hesitate when im in like 5th gear on the highway, and it usully starts when i shift down, and start to go alittle fast, thats just most of the time tho, it can do it randomly. so im still kinda stuff.

i think my problem was my MAF...i cleaned it really good. and cleaned the connector on the harness, and it seem to be running really good now.
