I just bought an s-13 240 for $1500 it has a ka24e and i want it much faster... i don't know what to do... i think i wana go sr, but i want something more inexpensive... any suggestions would be great... should i do a complete overhaul and start from the ground up with the ka, or would a different motor be much better... if so, what motor is cheap and fast, and how much is an SR....... Thx guys... looking forward to talking to you guys... I just joined the forum today and have seen how helpful you all are... thx...

since your new, i'll be nice. CA18det's are cheaper generally than the SR20's. SR clips usually run around ~$2500. CA clips run about ~$1900. direct swap, no modification needed. another thing you might wanna consider is RB20det, or maybe even rebuilding your KA then going KA-tnext time tho, use the search function, cuz this topic has been covered many times.

Adrian is correct. There are many possibilities when it comes to motors. The most desicive factor is YOU. What do YOU want. What do YOU think is the best motor for YOUR car. Search and search and research till your eyes bleed and then do it some more. The worst thing you can do is to jump the gun and do a swap and know nothing about it.
