Well I am running real rich with my SR and was planning to get an SAFC, but then i started thinking about a Power FC. I don't know anything about them though. So besides air fuel and boost what else do they control? Also about how much should i expect to pay for one and how hard are they to use. Thanks very much for all the help. I searched around for a little info but came up short.

I believe it also controlls timing. I think a FC with the remote controller will run you about $1200.

If you look around you could get one for around 900ish. It basically lets you control everything like you had a standalone management system. Plus it gives you a greater degree of adjustibility and accuracy than the SAFC or similar piggyback's.

That's what got Ken over the 450hp mark on his SR at Enjuku (the tunning allowed by the PFC)

There is a group buy type thing on Power FC's on the 240sx.org main page... its like 950. It doesn't say if its for SR's or what. I would imagine they are car specific if they plug into the ECU.

I'm not sure that they control boost, I think you still need a boost controller for that. but I think it links up with a boost controller and gives you added control over the boost. It will also let you setup bigger injectors and a MAP sensor, control your air/fuel curve, timing, and some other stuff. They are pretty bad azz.

The PowerFC IS a standalone ECU. It completely replaces your stock ECU therefore controlls everything like timing and fuel maps, it is NOT a piggyback system. There are also several versions available, you have to check Apex's website for the correct model number for your setup. Not all Power FC's allow you to run a MAP sensor. Only the D-Jetro version allows the MAP sensor and I don't think that version is readily available in this country. To control boost, there is a boost controller kit that you can buy for the PowerFC, but I don't think it is available for the SR. And the PowerFC doesn't connect to any other third party boost controllers. The PowerFC is also NOT as plug and play as some might claim. There's alot of wiring to make sure is correct and eventhough the base map will get you running it is by no means optimal. It requires a significant amount of knowledge to tune properly and is not recommended for beginners. I would stick with the Greddy's Emanage or the Apexi SAFC to start with especially if you're not running a significantly modified setup.

Hope this helps...

Joe

PS here is a thread of FA of my friend's ordeal with installing his D-Jetro PowerFC on his S13 Redtop...
