SR POWER 89 S13 240SX BRAKE HARD PEDAL! Ok tonight I went to test drive a 89 S13 240SX HB with sr20det red top. The only thing that is wrong is that. The brake is so hard that even if I put both of my feet and lift my A%$ up to put my weight on the pedal. The Pedal wont go down more than 2-3 inch!!! Also it does not stop or next to no brake!Need Help ASAP so I know should I get the car or not.

Give me your best guess!

Thanks

ALSO DOES IT MATTER THAT HE IS USING THE STOCK 89 BRAKE MASTER AND NOT THE SR BRAKE MASTER

the usdm and jdm master cylinders are pretty much the same. The only difference is that the brake lines mount on the opposite side so it makes no difference. So you are saying that there is way to much pedel effort and no braking power right?

did you hook the power steering vacuum hose back up to the intake manifold on the SR? If you didn't then you don't have power assist brakes and it would be a PITA to make it compress.

no the p/s does not need to be hooked up for the brake booster to operate. The vacuum Line he is talking about comes out of the brake booster and runs along the back of the engine where it connects to the bottom of the intake manifold with a metal fitting

here are some pictures of the vacuum line I am talking about. My car is right hand drive so the brake booster and master cylinder are on the opposite side. But everything else is the same here is the line in to the booster

Does the rpm drop or engine stumble like it's going to die when pressing the brake pedal? Check the brake booster vacuum line like the guys are saying, if it's connected then it's a bad brake booster. You will have to replace it if you buy it.

I check the vacuum line and its hook up. But I have no idea yet does it have Vacuum. So I am going to check on that. But I do notice it is missing a hose. When it connect from some kinda pump to a little black box that is attach to the engine/firewall!

RIGHT NOW I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR INFO AND HARD WORK ON HELPING ME.

if anyone have any more info please post it ASAP.

I just check the vacuum line. One of the one way valve was backwards. But after I put it back the right way. It still feel very hard but it alittle better then before!
