SR POWER 89 S13 240SX BRAKE HARD PEDAL!

Ok tonight I went to test drive a 89 S13 240SX HB with sr20det red top. The only thing that is wrong is that. The brake is so hard that even if I put both of my feet and lift my A%$ up to put my weight on the pedal. The Pedal wont go down more than 2-3 inch!!! Also it does not stop or next to no brake!

Need Help ASAP so I know should I get the car or not.

Give me your best guess!

Thanks

Well, an SR-powered S13 that won't stop = BAD.

Sounds like the power brakes are out, which isn't srprising if they did a quickie shade-tree swap.

ALSO DOES IT MATTER THAT HE IS USING THE STOCK 89 BRAKE MASTER AND NOT THE SR BRAKE MASTER

Check the master. Only reason I figure that is if there were a kink in one of your brake lines, it'd knock out just that one brake caliper, not all of em. Unless the booster's shot...

I just Learn the Power Steering is not hook up and the A/C is not hook up!

Does any of the 2 matter?

Up Date

I just brought the car for 3700 so now I am can start working on the car!

I check the vacuum line and its hook up. But I have no idea yet does it have Vacuum. So I am going to check on that. But I do notice it is missing a hose. When it connect from some kinda pump to a little black box that is attach to the engine/firewall!

RIGHT NOW I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR INFO AND HARD WORK ON HELPING ME.

if anyone have any more info please post it ASAP.

it may be a booster prob but that is very uncommon on nissans. this may seem dumb but is the pedal clear of obstruction?

ok, do that. air in the brakes should not cause a stiff pedal with lack of braking power. the friction coeficient may have gone down. something like the pads/rotors getting covered in oil. the hydraulic sys may have blockage. the master cyl may be leaking internally. the booster diaghram may be broken. etc...

i saw that you checked to see if there was vacuum in the line going to the booster, however did you make sure that the booster is ooperating properly? If you dont know how ot do this all you have to do is start the car let it run for a few sec (10 is enough) shut the car off. After a minute of the car being off pull that black vacuum line out of the booster, and it should make audible noise. the noise is the diiference in pressure between the inside of the booster and the atmosphere. if there is no noise your break booster is bad.

correct, if there is no air sound that means that your booster is shot.
