Okay, I've got a Blacktop S13 motor. My mods on it are:

3in down pipeHKS o2 housingTest PipeApex Dual N1 ExhaustGreddy Boost ControllerHybrid FMICJDM VLSD

With this setup I’m able to run high 14s on stock boost, and mid to high 13s on High boost.

It's just not fast enough anymore.

I'm looking for more performance. But I don't want to get some lame upgrades that don't give me good performance per $ ratio. What's the best? Cams? ECU retunes? I'm just looking for a bit more power for now. Hopefully power I can make without having to just run higher boost. I just want to get into the low 13s, maybe high 12s. I'll get a Different turbo later, but what's good for now?

Phase2's ECU retune quotes 25-30hp+, does that sound reasonable?

It sounds like your going to run into the dreaded and expensive-to-overcome fuel delivery baricade soon. Personally, i wouldnt mess with retuned ecu's unless your in their shop and on the dyno while they are tuning it. Plus after you get a new turbo and fuel system its going to be worthless anyways.

Good performance for the dollar now? Sort ofGood performance for the dollar after new upgrades? I think not...

I'd say save your money for something bigger and badder

How about the little greddy pullies? Are those good for any real power? Or mainly looks?

they are alot lighter compared to the stock components, but not too much hp freed up unless you go with electric fans as well.

things to help your ET: -pair of cheap wheels and slicks -aluminum driveshaft

Personally i would start saving for that turbo you want to get in the future.

How much power would some really mild cams net me? I don't want the power band to be weak or my idle to be super rought, a little is fine, but I mainly don't want a horrible S2000 powerband

There are all sorts of shops. AEM has really been pushing their EMS system. I don't know of anyone running one on a 240SX yet. You might be able to contact them and work out some deal where they'll tune it for you, simply to get exposure in the 240 community.

As J-Spec pointed out, you are quicky reaching the point where you are going to have to upgrade a bunch of stuff at once. If you want a few extra horsepower now, you can get some mild cams. A simple cam change won't take you into the 12's though.

I have a 95 240SX SE and ran 13.2@105 a couple nights ago. I have open diff with crap coopers in the rear. I am still on stock turbo and the run was at 13.5psi with a 2.00sec 60ft. Are you launching good or is it the limit of your motor? Perhap mine might have more spunk due to the rebuild before I installed it. If you want more juice, save your pennies and go for an upgraded turbo with fuel mods and maybe a way to tune it (retune, afc, or standalone)

I'm running at a crappy track (LACR).. It's hard to hook it there. 2.1-2.3 is about what Your average LS1 Fbody or Corvette runs there in the 60. So i'm not doing too bad.
