Please dont drive it or start it anymore!!....I had the same problem
your oilpan was most likely mashed in a little from the ride over on the pallet....
the oil pickup is only 1/8 of an inch away from the pickup, the slightest bit the oilpan is mashed your engine will get no oil....
pull off the oilpan......knock it out some....especially where the big square portion is out of all them little square shaped indentations right in the middle until it looks a little bit pregnant with a small piece of wood against the pan and a hammer...
dont bend the flanges and do not bang a screwdriver between the soft block and the pan.....carefully work it off by pulling on the lip of the pan around a little at a time until the old RTV breaks loose......
clean all of the old RTV off with a wire brush off of the bottom of the block and the pan...clean both mating surfaces with a generous amount of break cleaner so all oil residue is gone
for the install...run a 1/8 inch tall bead of GREY HIGH TEMPERATURE RTV in each one of those grooves you will see imbedded into the pan itself...run a very thin film of RTV around each hole so it seals around the holes.....do not get any into the holes of the block itself or you will risk breaking a bolt inside the hole because the rtv will not compress as you wonder why the bolt isnt seating in all of the way into the hole.....
not a very important part so you will not end up with any oil leaks....wait at least 2 hours before you add any oil to the engine so the RTV gets a chance to dry....if not the engine will get warm, vibrate and allow oil to seep past the RTV while it is still wet...
follow this and your engine low oil situation will most likely go away.....if not, think of it as preventive maintaining.
