Does the SR20's lower oil pan sit lower, higher, or the about same height off the ground as the KA's? I searched, but all I have found is that supposedly the NISMO mounts make the motor sit a bit higher and a lot about how to remove, repair, and regasket (gasket maker) the upper and lower oil pans. I ask bc I have Eibach Sportlines (1.75" drop according to the suspension tech sticky), and need to know if the SR oil pan will be in any more danger than the current KA setup. I have yet to scrape the KA's pan but I don't want to destroy my SR bc its pan sits too low. Thanks for any help.

kay. Just wanted to check bc when I got the car there were several scrapes and small dents on the frontal area of the KA's oil pan. I think micheal didn't know how that he needed to take speed bumps at an angle. There are no new ones since I've had it though, so I'll just avoid speed bumps and potholes if possible.

frontal area...??? you mean the bottom of the oil pan or what??

cause if its at the bottom sometimes could mean that they accidently dropped the motor a little far and hit the sway bar denting the oil pan...samething happened to my buddy, the idiot forgot to tighten the chain correctly and it dropped but not too much and made a dent/scratches in his oil pan (at the bottom)... and no it wasnt my fault

Well this is on the old KA that is coming out and was like this when I bought it. by frontal area I mean the front part of the KA's pan on both the bottom and where the pan makes a 90 degree turn up to the block. So the front part both side and bottom are scratched/a couple small dents. Did that make sense?

hmmm... i've never really measured. not much of a difference tho... I'm pretty slammed on coils, and I've never scraped my pan before, KA or SR. if anything, I scrape my transmission more than oil pan..

I was thinking the samething, I doubt those scrapes are from speedbumps/potholes...

you guys are probably right. Like krzykrnkiller said, it probably happened when they put the motor in. The company that rebuilt it did a piss poor job and the shop that installed it did too. I have stripped/missing bolts and such everywhere! How far down is your car? I'll go look at those pics of the meet you took. Btw, I was trying to find jackstands for the car so I don't have to rely on blocks all the time, so I measured my framerails. They are right at 4" of the ground. The motor and such sit higher and the nose is ~5.5-6 off the ground. thanks guys. I just don't want to be in the same boat next week. I will need this car as my DD for another 3-6 months.

Trust me if adrian has no problems then u shouldn't either, his car is slammed. I felt like crying when I heard scraping on a dip, and that was his mudflaps.

I have scraped the underbody on speed bumps before (I don't have mudflaps). my front lip is scraped up pretty good too, and the brackets that the T/C rods connect to are scraped a little bit too. Knowing micheal he probably drove it like 100 over speed bumps. Nah, he tried to take care of the car, he likes cars and he had to pay for everything like I do, so he tried to take care of it. He did messy work though.

some of them are man. Some are low and wide some are high and narrow, those really suck! I also scrape on some of the concrete water ditches (what are they called?). You know the ones that are in subdivisions at the end of driveways and in front of stores.
