okay so i was lucky enough to strip the threading where my oil feed line comes off of from the block my question is if there are any other places i can run an oil feed from? theres no way to fix this one without drilling and since my engine is still in the car i really dont want to do that. i was thinking of putting a bolt with jb weld to close that one up and maybe run the line from somewhere else?? any help would be great.. i noticed about 3 inches up from where the oil feed is theres a bolt that goes into the block.. is that an oil feed as well? thanks for the help i need it

You need to fix it right, with a heli coil. Use heavy grease around the drill and the tap at the base of the hole to catch all the shavings. Take your time while drilling and tapping, and be careful.

yea thats what i was thinking.. so how exactly does tapping it catch all of the shavings? because thats my main concern is something getting in my oil line and clogging my oil restrictor..

The way twist drills and taps are designed, the shavings move up the tool. When you tap the hole, I would put a dab of grease on the tip of the tap also, to catch any of the finer chips that might not want to come out the top.

oh wow cool thanks alot.. so i just buy a helicoil kit for i believe its 12x1.25 for the stock thread or do i have to make the hole a little bigger? also does that mean i need a new fitting as well? sorry for all the questions its my first time fixing something like this.. the previous owner just threadlocked and taped the fitting in their and when i removed to install new lines a bunch of the threading came out with it.. now its so bad i can slide the fitting in and out..

I don't think it's that big! Probebly 8mm, but I'm unsure. Depending on the Heli Coil kit you get, it may or may not come with a drill bit. Just a tap, coils, and a install tool. But the tap will say what size drill bit to use.

Once you have installed the Heli Coil, your original fitting will screw right in.

ive done it before using a drill bit elbow. pretty much like a universal joint on a ratchet. wasnt easy though.

yea i bought a right angle drill.. it was a pita to find the bit that fits the 3/8 chuck.. but i figured it out.. kinda sucks though in tools and parts it came out well over 100$ for one little hole
