New to the SR game....i just recently got my sr and it was running great for the first few days i got it. The clutch started slipping so i went ahead and bought a stage 1 f1 exedy clutch kit with flywheel, clutch plate, pressure plate and throw out bearing. well after it was all in and put back together....it still slips....i have no idea what to do at this point. Ive replaced the slave cylinder, and bled the lines until there was nothing left to bleed. any suggestions? im so lost at this point.

there is one thing that i question tho. the clutch kit came with a small metal ring. it didnt come with instructions so we never figured out where it goes. there wasnt one on the stock clutch i took off so we just put the new kit on as the same as the old kit came off.

Got a picture of the "little metal ring"? Also you did clean off the flywheel and everything with like brake clean to remove the grease right? Were you getting any bubbles out of the line while bleeding it?

well i took it to my friends shop to get it put in and everything. I was in the car pushing the petal on top of the lift when we were bleeding it so i didnt get to see any bubbles first hand. but he said there wasn't anything coming out anymore. So i trusted there judgment... and also from my knowledge i didnt see them clean it off....but i know there where wearing gloves when they were handling the parts. Could that possibly be a legit reason, cause they didnt clean it?

I think i may still have a warranty on the clutch i bought. But i want to know for sure its something with it and not something dumb and return it for no reason.

do you still have that box thing that the clutch line connects to and from there the line goes to the slave? if so i would bypass that by connecting the clutch line directly from the master to the slave then bleed it again.

yea, remove the box. makes life easier. I really think is because ur clutch is not bled completely. Just have someone press the pedal and look at how far the slave is pushing. If you do have a good amount of air inside the slave cylinder wont strectch out as much. It took my dad, my bro and me 3 hours or so to bleed it with the box on and still there was air. After removing the box it was like 10 mins or less to bleed the clutch.I want tto say 5 min for 10 just to be safe lol.Um.. kinda off topic but how much was ur clutch kit? im shopping for one right now lol.

Bleeding the clutch line isnt gonna fix your clutch slipping. All bleeding the clutch line does it make sure your getting proper pressure in the line to disengage the clutch to shift. If the clutch is slipping, its gonna be from grease on the Flywheel or Pressure Plate or it could be that you didnt break in the clutch properly and glazed the disc.

yea i did some researching and i read that some just took of the black box and it helped but not in my cause. I took it out and there was no difference.

Ok heres a newb question, and this may be real dumb of me on my part.....is there a difference in the sr20det and the sr20de clutches? could it be possible i got the wrong clutch. I mean in my head it kinda makes since. The car goes in gear perfect, but just slips after 2 to 3 thousand rpms. Could it be that i got a DE clutch and it cant hold up to the pressure of the turbo pressure?

Way smaller... Plus any SR20DE clutch is going to be more than likely the FWD engine, which wouldn't bolt up either, and has a different spline on the clutch disc.
