SR starters are prone to making odd noises. As long as it's not a grinding noise, I wouldn't worry about that too much.
Check to ensure that you are getting power (12v) to the injectors, there should be 1 common color wire that goes to each injector and it should have power to all 4.
Did the car run normally before the swap? It may be that fuel is getting to the fuel rail, but not enough pressure for the injectors to spray properly. When you're removing the fuel lines after trying them in different configurations, is there a lot of pressure in the lines? If not then I suspect the fuel pump is faulty.
If there's a lot of pressure in the lines, you will need to test the injectors. First and foremost unplug the harness for the coilpacks (rear of head), now unbolt the injector rail and leave everything (wires/ hoses) connected and have someone crank the engine. If no fuel sprays out, and the injectors have power and the fuel pump is good, then it can only be the injectors.
It is not uncommon for all the injectors to go out at once, too..
