Ok im a total noob when it comes to engine swaps.

My question is, if i have an '89 240 which type of SR20 do i need to buy for a swap?

Ive seen the years of ca18det are 88-91 does that mean the engine was built in those years or only that engine will fit in thoe years of car?

Thanks for answers, please dont waste time flaming me

Do some searching. It's quick and easy, and mostly painless.

The years you see are production years. You can put a CA18DET in an S14 if you wanted, or you could take an S15 SR (99 and up) and put it in your clapped out , rusty '89 240sx.
