SR missing knock sensor?

I was installing my s-afc yesterday and I went to connect the knock sensor, and I noticed there is no wire coming out of the ecu where the knock sensor should be. It's just a blank slot.

I have a redtop S13 SR with an E5 ECU (94-96 180sx). Is this normal?

You should compare ecu connector maps from the 62 ecu and E5 ecu to see where is the knock sensor wire is located.

I had an uncut harness, and there are no loose wires coming off the harness. The spot 27 which is for the knock sensor is just empty plastic. There never was a wire in it. I do however have a knock sensor under the intake manifold that I can see and that attaches via a plug to the main engine harness.

I am very confused.

The knock sensor is attached to your intake manifold by some bolt and bracket thing that's holding another plug. The knock sensor itself fits below the intake manifold between the two sections of the runners. The plug pops up next to the third runner along with another plug for something else.

I know I have the plug, but the wire doesn't come out on the other end as far as I can tell... I haven't ripped apart my harness yet and followed it.
