Sup guys.

need your help/advice

I am buying a sr powered 89 240sx coupe, and i want to take the sr swap and put it into my vert and put the vert KA in the 89 coupe. but dosent the 89 have a difrent harness becaus it used to be SOCH? How would I go with putting the DOCH ka in a SOCH coupe that used to have an sr?

What would i need to do to get the sr in the vert and the KA out of my vert and back into the 89 coupe i got the SR out of?

The 89 sr coupe no longer has the sohc harness, it has the sr harness now...

You are just gonna move over all the wiring/ecu/engine you have in the dohc car that you removed for the sr swap. simple.

for the most part your right but not 100%

this is the wiring steps from the tech page to convert a harness from a sohc to a dohc. the harness are the same except the plug that sends signal to the cluster. you'll have to cut the plugs off and swap them very easy to do.

Wiring:1. Locate the body harness (under dash harness that attached to the ECU) that attached to your old harness. Cut the old connector off (the one that attached to your SOHC harness) and attach your DOHC body harness connector. Just match the colors!Yellow/Red --TachYellow/Green--SpeedometorOrange--Ignition startBlack---GroundBlue/Black---Water temp sensor

There will be some wires left over. These are for the SOHC's diagnostic plug, and are unnecessary. Please note: Your car will NOT be able to hook up to a CONSULT tool. 2. Use a soldering iron to splice the wires together. It makes for a much cleaner job, and a cleaner electrical signal.3. You need to swap out your tach if you want one that works. No wiring is involved, but it must be done. Simply pull your gauge cluster and remove the three screws behind the tach. Lift and separate. Replace.

I would imagine these things have already been fixed, considering the OP is most likely running a dohc cluster for his SR...

Either way he's going to have to change the SOHC dash plug. The SR car that used to be a SOHC still needs the SOHC dash plug because it's not the cluster that has the plug but the chassis interior harness, he'll have to swap them out, IE put the DOHC dash plug on the SR motor harness and cut the SOHC dash plug off the SR harness and put it on the DOHC engine harness.
