could i use a ka alternator in my s13 sr20?

yes

you will need to swap the SR pulley to the ka alternator. I had to take a file to the bracket on the ka alt when I swapped my sohc alt onto my sr, a bit of monkeying around but it fits.

I had a bit of a problem getting the sr pulley to clear the ka alternator, but fixed it by putting a washer between the bearing and the pulley. Make sure that nut it TIGHT when you put the pulley back on. Mine wasn't the first time, and it damn near cause a catastrophe.
