On my cluster, my Temp. Gauge doesn't work. My speedometer doesn't work, and I believe I have no CHECK ENGINE light...god knows what else. The car runs fine. Just these couple of ****s annoy me. Does anyone know what's the problem?

I replaced the SR speed Sensor on the transmission and when I plugged it up, the car was doing 30, and on the speedometer, it shows 60. So if i'm doing 60, I'm governing out at 120. Does anyone know what the hell is wrong? I tried to talk to Daunt, but I guess Money talks first...never got a respond from him. Still don't understand why the Temp gauge doesn't work. No engine check light when the key is turned to ON position??? Weird.

Can someone help me out?

i'm not positive, but I believe you won't get a check engine light unless any of the 5 wires on the ecu to dash harness besides the ones like speed, rpm, ignition, ground, a/c, temp are connected

What do you mean the 5 wires on the ECU to dash harness? I believe all the wires are connected. Just don't know what you mean.

I'm in the middle of the same speed sensor problem right now. You need to get the US speed sensor out of a 240's trans...Your problem will then be solved.

By the way, does anyone have an extra one they'd be willing to sell?? I need one bad.. Please let me know.

there is a plug (orange i think) that goes straight up into the dash from the ECU. Is that one plugged in? it's easy to forget

Pretty sure the colors need to match on it as well

I'm talking about the wires coming off the ecu that don't go into the engine bay. On an uncut harness they have a white female plug, but you cut that off and match the colors up to a plug that goes up into the dash. This is your speedometer, tachomter, temp, a/c, ground, and ignition signals. Then there are 4 or 5 wires left over that don't match up and those are for the check engine light according to most sources, but I haven't found any writeups on what wires match up.

aznride even though you said you switced the vss, it sounds like you have the km/h one in there. the jdm one is solid black, with 2 wires coming out of it. the usdm one is a metal housin, with a plug right on it.

the new vss from nissan is like 120 dollars. kinda pricey, but i need to know how fast im going, ive already got 2 speeding tickets with the damn sr. Ne ways, just for your info, if you leave the vss in the transmission, and just dont hook up the 2 wires you wont have a speed cut. only downside is the motor appears to run in a safe mode. 1st 2nd and 3rd are fine, the motor revs up to 7.5 k, but in 4th and 5th i hit rev limiter a 6k. Other than that though there is no apparant problems running the sr without the vss. as for the temp gauge, id suggest trying the usdm sending unit. if you leave the sr sending unit in your car reads hotter then it actually is. other then that, id suggest double checking the wiring. good luck man.
