SR in a 1986 nissan 720pick up?

hey guys i just got the truck and the car is pretty much lacking any umph and i was just wondering if i could swap the motor or i know this is the wrong thread but even a ka24 because upgrades to make put out are plentiful? any inmput, ive done motorswaps before and can do a little manuf. but all mostly done at home
