assuming you got a s13, you can mount it any where that the two plug ends of the harness will reach. but if you want to put it in the factory location, then its on the driver side strut wall. You then would have to extend the plugs for it to make it reach.

Vacuum lines- do you have an smic or fmic? and are you using the canister next to the radiator on driver side? Do you have a boost gauge or controller yet? That has to come into play when hooking up the lines. That way we will have a better picture on how the lines would go

if you are talking about the two sensors that are on that metal bracket that has the ignitor too, then you don't need to use those. they are the boost sensor and the purge cut off valve.if you are talking about vac lines in general, then everything but one comes from the two fittings on the intake manifold. the little on on the bottom of the throttle body goes to the carbon canister top line. the carbon can opens with vac and suck out the fuel fumes in the gas tank and sends them inthe intake to be burnt. there is a small chance for boost leak if you don't put in a one way valve in the lines to the carbon canister.....shaunon another note, i'm checking into seeing if the older ca18e ignitor chips can be used on the sr.....looks good so far.

put them on the USDM passenger strut tower. No extending needed.

So your saying that I don't need to use anything that is attached to that metal plate except for the ignitor chip? I can just throw that crap away?

I believe you can. I have all that stuff on mine, and I don't think that anything is hooked up other than the ignitor chip; I'd go look, but i've been working on my SR all weekend and I don't feel like going out and looking.

carbon canister has 2 vaccum lines coming off of it. it's to the left of my hotpipe and to the right of my radiator hose.

Why did you keep the canister? I've heard that you you can just get rid of it. Plug the lines that lead to it, and you shouldnt have a prob.

if you do that, you need a vented fuel cap. you risk the chance of your tank exploding. here is how a carbon can works,,,,the can has a open inlet on the bottom. this leads to a carbon filter. the valve on top with two vac fittings is activated by manifold vac. it opens up so that the bigger of the two vac fittings takes the fueltank vapors thru the carbon filter and into the engine to be burned. the 3rd fitting on the can is where the vapor flows into the can. this serves two purposes.1, to depressurize the fuel tank2, to burn those dirty vapors that escape and kill our planet.

I will take it off, but not plug the lines that come out of the tank.... after I get it smogged.
