OK, my front clip is from a HICAS car, and I dont have a HICAS car.

A few questions (I did a quick search and came up with no solid info)

1. If using my non-HICAS rack, do I need to get an SR non-hicas pump?

2. Is there a benifit from swapping over the HICAS steering rack (read that it might have a sharper turning radius)?

3. If I swapped over both the pump and rack, but dont have anything in the rear, what do I need to plug?

1. Yes, The hicas pump has two pressure outlets on it. I've heard you can cap the rear one but I wouldn't try it. give marco vargas a call at sr20store.com a call, he's always got them in stock.

2. The Hicas steering rack just has a quicker turning ratio, meaningf it will take less turns of the steering wheel to go from lock to lock.

3. The bottom line is the pump won't work unless you at least have the distribution block for the hicas system. I would see if you can do some sort of trade in for your pump and just get a regular one.

YOU CAN USE THE HICAS PUMP BY ELIMINATING THE SECOND CIRCUIT AND CAPPING IT....

HERE IS MY WRITE UP OF HOW TO DO THIS:

In the back of the pump there are bolts holding the layers together remove those bolts but hold the pump together tightly. Slowly remove the top two layers. Inside the pump just under the second outlet there is a disk with veins(metal squares) in it. Get a magnet and remove all of these squares from the pump, there should be like 10 - 14 of them. Then put the layers back together carefully and bolt it tightly together. Then remove the banjo bolt and replace it with a flush mount allen head bolt to plug the hole.

What this does is stops the fluid flow to the rear port and then plugs the hole so the fluid gets pushed out the front outlet.

Shouldn't I just get a regular SR pump? There is no benifit from having the HICAS pump right? Sorry about the noob questions I just dont know.

I couldn't find a solid, normal bolt to fit the pump so I used the original bolt that holds the hose on (I think they might be called banjo bolts but don't quote me on that) and I cut smaller bolt to fit inside of the larger one. Then i jb welded that into the bolt and I jb welded the side holes so that the ps fluid wouldn't flow past them. Sounds crude but it worked great.

someone correct me if im wrong, but make sure that the sr has the same width and number of ribs on the non hicas pump as the hicas pump. because on the ka's there are 2 different belts, the hicas had 3 ribs and the normal pump had 2, i had to unbolt the ps pulley on the crank dampener and instal the non hicas pulley with the non hicas pump to make it work
