I have an s13 redtop sr and an 89 240. I have a ka radiator but the mechanic i'm workin with, who did the wiring, thinks my engine will overheat with just the KA radiator.so i wanted to get an SR radiator but i can't seem to find one for the s13.

So my question is, what differences, if any, are there between the stock s14 SR radiator and the stock S13 SR radiator??? can i install an s14 sr radiator into an s13 with redtop???

I apologize if this is a noob question to people but I've searched and found no good answer.

please help me as soon as you can cause this is one of the big things keeping my car from running.

thanks in advance.

Should tell us where you're located. If in the desert area then yes you'll most likely overheat. If in the colder areas where it does not reach 100 degrees or above then you won't have a problem with a ka radiator. s14 radiator will fit but with a bit of modification to the upper radiator mount.

Your going to spend all this money on doing the SR swap, and cut corners by trying to use the KA? Nice....

Protect your investment and get a Koyo copper. If you could afford the SR, you have $160+/- for a good quality rad.

Well as he said the radiator is $160 +/- ..... for that price I would assume it would be a copper radiator

If I were you I would spend the $305 on an s13 sr20det Koyo aluminum radiator ---- can buy this radiator from phase2motortrend.com, enjukuracing.com, heavythrottle.com (I'm sure there are others I just can't think of any at the moment. The stock lower radiator hose for the USDM 240sx will fit the sr20det w/ koyo aluminum radiator (you'll just have to trim the hose a little where it connects to the engine). For the upper radiator hose you'll need to buy one of the flexible ones from the autoparts store until you can get the OEM sr20det one (or some nice silicon ones) --- again, available from one of the above mentioned shops.

S14 radiators will work in S13's, the upper mounts just wont line up.

but where can you get a koyo for 160..??? the only price i can find them for is like 290 - 320. if i can get a coyo copper for 160 i'd do it. it was the 300 that was worrying me. just to be sure, copper cools almost as well as Aluminum right...?

the koyo aluminum is better then the copper. The copper is the same size as the ka and sr, it just has a better core.

So going from worst to bestka rad, koyo copper, koyo aluminum, greddy lol If you find a sr rad then use the clutch fan and fan shroud from the sr. you should never have problems then.

Sorry but you are wrong Kota. I live here in Texas where it does get over 100 degrees. There is a thread on FA where two guys from here conducted a test on 4 radiators using datalog equipment. They drove around for a few days gathering info such as temperature with each radiator and found that the Koyo aluminum ( which is the one I have BTW) was pretty close to stock when it comes down to it. They also tested a dual pass and the Koyo copper. The test results went like this:1. Dual pass2. Koyo copper3. Koyo alum.4. Stock

ok if the RB motors can use the stock ka radiators than the sr can to but you might check your themostat or water pump just a suggestion
