Heres a question for all u SR guys who live in colder areas. Do you drive it all year round? and if you do is there anything you should pay special attention to due to the turbo? I don't have an SR yet but I plan on it and I live in Calgary Canada and it get mighty cold and I think it'll be my year round car for at least a year.

Thanks guys!

turbo cars like the cold =)

i drive my SR year around and i live in vegas...runs just fine...one word of advice though...swap the SR radiator into the 240...the stock KA radiator is actually smaller and thinner than the SR...and this helps GREATLY in the summertime if it tends to get really hot where you live (95 deg or hotter)...in vegas the temps tend to get up around 115-130 (on the tarmac) so u need all the cooling you can get...if you wanna go with something a bit bigger get a nice twin or triple core radiator with dual electric fans...if you take the car to autoX or drift events...its a must to get a new radiator...i made about 6 passes in october when the temp was around 90 deg at drift day 8 and the car got kinda hot...dont wanna blow a head gasget (one of the SRs BIG weaknesses)

for you. When it gets down to 70. :)

Back on topic! If you can land a block heater, you should be fine. I've noticed that my car seemed to bog when it was really cold here (under mid 30's or so). Once the weather warmed back up to the 40's and higher, she seemed fine.

yeah move your *** out of there as soon as possible. Cold weather is good for turbo's, heat and humidity is bad. I also have a eclipse with a 20g turbo on it and it runs like **** in the summer and awesome in the winter when its below freezing, just keep antifreeze in that biatch and you'll be fine.

Just make sure you thoroughly warm the car up. When its cold, my car takes up to 6 minutes to heat up. You shouldn't really have any problems though. Take the same precautions as you would with any other car in changing fluids.

Also if you are going to run an oil cooler, take it out during winter months. :)

I used the SR20DE block heater, and drove the car through 02-03 winter. ACT clutch made starts on ice challenging.I'm in Edmonton.I also use Amsoil 0W30

Run a good oil. Amsoil symthetics have some of the lowest pour points of any motor oils... (-65°F for their 0w-30)
