I got a front clip from a 180sx and I was pulling the harness and found a strange silver box near the master cylinder. The wires from it had been cut and spliced together to bypass the box. It's has JECS on it and a part # of A15-000G02. Anyone have any idea of what it is???

It was wired to the factory harness, so I know it wasn't aftermarket........

That's the auto destruct box. Apparently the previous owner decided to bypass it.

the only thing i can find in the service manual that matches it is a dropping resistor for the line pressure selenoid valves on the A/T models.

Bingo, I just came back from Enjuku and that's what they said it was as well. My clip has a 5-speed (I guess it's a swap) so that's what was throwing me off. Thanks for the help.............
