In an attempt to make this forum more user friendly I'd like to work with some general guidelines.

1. Choose a topic that is most descriptive of your problem.

Ex.

"HELP I HAVE A PROBLEM!" - This tells the reader nothing about the issue. When you have about 5 - 10 of these on the same page it leads to your issue getting skipped over. Similar to a boy crying wolf for the tenth time.

Say you have a problem with your car having idle issues. A more suitable topic would be "S13 SR - Idle Issues", or "S13 SR - Lumpy Idle".

Basically this makes it ALOT easier for people to find these threads using the Search function. It's a better service to everyone and can help people get answers faster.

2. Lets keep it clean. The usage of ten thousand exclamation marks and abuse of the caps-lock button is not necessary, and makes you sound like you've had too many energy drinks. By putting "Need Help Immediately!!!!!!!!!!!" as a topic you again (for reasons above) do yourself a disservice. Most people will read your topic regardless of the 8 !'s you put in the title because they for the most part want to help you.

3. Please search or look around at the current thread lists. In the past month I have seen about 6 individual threads (4 of which were on the main page) regarding California emissions. I have setup a thread in the FAQ to spur some chat on this topic. Let's make some use of it, and keep the discussion fresh.

4. If you have any ideas, express them. It's hard for the mods to make it more beneficial without your feedback. Lets communicate and make a better product. Also don't be afraid to email us if you have any issues with the board.

Feel free to post your opinions / ideas.

Yeah, maybe a basic turbo upgrade guideline (mentioning things like drivability, reliability, and cost with examples of others' setups including dyno's if possible) and the supporting mods for each. Too many people start the same threads..."I want my SR to have xxx-whp, what do I need".

Lose the SR picture thread.

Personally I think that thread is useless to all but the oblivious. Regardless, people are still asking questions, are they not? I'm talking about a thread for people with a brain that already understand a MAF or injectors can only flow so much but still need a bit of help deciding on what to get.

You have to contact a Mod or Admin and I'm sure they would gladly change/edit it for you. You can identify the forum Mods, by clicking the Forum Stats link at the top of the sub-forum.

Send an email with the current title, thread URL and new title would be best.

Kinda off topic:

Does anyone else have a problem with the current search engine. It may just be me, for I am coming from a diffrent format. but I just searched "California emissions" and only got back 2 results. I know 2 is something, but alot of time I'll get back nothing on a subject. So either I am using the search engine incorrectly (very possiable ) or maybe we could consider something diffrent. or if it is a little more complacited than say a google search make a how-to instead of just yelling at the new guys.... I'm a moderatior on the srt-4 forums and have recently sold the neon to join your family but the search engine there was much eaiser to use, and I have heard that from more than one of my friends here....Just my thoughts, maybe I'm out of line, my apologizes if so. This forum has been great, and I'm not bitching, just suggesting

zerosearch

i agree, but there are 2 things to that,

1.) people posting in the forum need to use wording that is easier to search for

2.) the ability to use a wildcard in the search field would come in very handy.

Search not only words in topics, but also tread bodies as well. Don't forget about archived data either.

ha ha... point taken. it was designed for the COMPLETE newb. but i guess a MUCH more indepth thread would be nice. if we could put together a few different walk throughs of how different guys got to certain power levels would be nice. you know the whole "there's more then one way to skin a cat" thing.

Ok, I've started to rename threads, lock monotonous ones, and generally cleaning up.

Do your part please.

Also, post in the below thread if you have anything to comment on!
