I was putting in a new clutch yesterday and i pulled out the throwout bearing with the release sleeve and didn't notice how the release sleeve was held by the fork? is the fork going to be pinning the release sleeve back or is it going to behind it? how does the fork hold the release sleeve with the throw out bearing or does it?

its the same for all nissan trannies. well at least the KA ones and SR. maybe general maintenance forum would help u more

from what i recall the TOBearing is just held on there by a sprung metal clip on each side like paper clip sized. they just slide over the TOB holder.

MAKE SURE you lube the clutch fork pivot piece with white lithium grease like the factory service manual says. You'll be more prone to breaking it if you don't and will then have to buy the nismo one.

we're doing a transmission swap into a 95 240 ... the throw out bearing that came with the clutch kit and the one we got from parts store dont match up to the input shaft sleave or the clutch fork??? they are too big for the input shaft and don't have the spring clips that the clutch fork look like it needs to retain the bearing. they also are too short, there's no way they will engage the pressure plate even with the clutch fork pivoted all the way...

the transmission has 95 240sx on it and matches up to clutch pack and engine just fine. were there different clutch forks or throw out bearings for some years?

appreciate any help we can get ... thanks tim

Not to thread jack, but where can I grab just the little fork or spring/clip on the t.o. bearing? One of the hooks broke off of mine. Will I have to buy a clutch kit just to get that one piece?
