I took the CA transmission off and was in the process of replacing the flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate all with SR stuff. I put everything on and it was kinda late so i figured i'd try to put the transmission on before i left. The bastard wouldn't go on, but its no big deal trannies are always pains in the ***. So i come back the next day to actually spend some time on it and get it on and its all lined up everything looks good but it won't go on! I notice some metal shavings...then i notice the damned flywheel is too fat for the bellhousing!! I'll probably just grind that *****, even though its hitting really close to a bolt hole. But this is really holding back my progress and sucks hard. Also, I'm rather worried about the starter as it appears that it is barely going to come in contact with the flywheel teeth. Has anyone done the SR flywheel? Does the starter work ok and did you have the bellhousing problem??

I tried bolting up paul's sr stuff to my ca and it doesn't seem to fit either...same as you said, the starter doesn't contact the flywheel...and the flywheel is too big for the bellhousing...i also had problems tightening down the flywheel nuts (they were too long and I couldn't tighten them down enough).

damn, i was gettin all excited cause he gave the stuff to me for free:D oh well...back to the ca flywheel and stuff...nissan near me has nismo clutches on sale! anyone know about the quality of them...its a 6 puck disk...

Sorry Doogz..doesn't look like its gonna work (at least not easily)

What about a KA flywheel and clutch? This thread has me a bit frightened because I was planning on swapping my old flywheel and clutch into the new CA. My clutch only has like 6 or 7 thousand miles on it right now.

clutch and pressure plate off a KA work...you have to file off one of the pins with a dremel or something similar for it to fit (easy):D

Not what i wanted to hear but i guess im stuck with it. Know anyone that wants to buy some sr stuff :) The worst part isn't knowing that some day im gonna have to drop the transmission again to fix that, its knowing that that ****ty *** heavy stock flywheel and wimpy clutch are gonna be in there.

The flywheel is a Toda racing one and the clutch is the stage 1 ACT kit with the street disc. Let me know if they want it b/c you are close enough i could probably just drive out there and not have to mess with shipping.

Well...I got em both from Heavy Throttle. Flywheel was $450 and the clutch was $339. Although I will not be able to provide the original boxes (as i threw them away) or the pilot bushing b/c i grooved my old one in the process of removing it and kept the new one in but that's not a big deal to get another one of those or to just keep the old one. How does $650 sound?

Oh I know that is out of your pricerange, just a general announcement. The Starion is a little small but a solid lil chiller, should be just right for the OE turbo. Polish it up before you put it in they look pretty cool.

that is part of the body harness. The KA plug for the alternator should plug right into the CA one or the KA alternator should bolt on I would think. If neither works and you need CA specific wiring let me know and I will go get it for you ASAP.
