Hey, I just finished my SR swap and tried to crank it and it has a hard time cranking. But if you give it some gas then it will crank up but then bobs and dies. For some reason my interior lights(gauges, radio, etc.) dont work unless I crank it and give it gas. I can keep it running by manipulating the throttle but then it wont let me get past about 3500 rpm. My vaccum lines look ok, and I dont see a leak in the intercooler piping. Im lost and tired, anyone know whats going on? Thanks.

timint timing timing, at least it was for me... Have a friend turn it over while you rotate the CAS, you may even have to take it out carfully and rotate the gear back or forwards one notch. :)

Id think timing would be the issue too. Work on the CAS.

In regards to the CAS is it possible for the yellow paint mark to come off? The first time I set my timing with the yellow dot my car didn't run to great and I later realized I had done it wrong. I just went to take the CAS out again to do everything over and the yellow paint is gone? Has this happened to anyone?

The paint could scratch off i suppose but its not likely. Its more likely that you set up the CAS right, but the TDC you though you were at was on the wrong stroke.

Yup, I didn't have TDC set right. The info I read said TDC was the 2nd mark from the right on the crank pulley when in fact it's the yellow one second from left. I set it to TDC properly now but the paint on the CAS mysteriously disappeared when I pulled it out again.

Now is that it doesnt seem to want to idle. It will crank and catch but then it fights a little then dies. I tried unplugging my O2 sensor and it still acted the same but when I unplug my MAFS it idles but wont let me rev beyond 2500 RPM. I checked my MAFS wiring and even resoldered the wires and it still acts the same. Do I have a bad MAFS? or any input? Thanks.

I had the same problem, wouldn't idle worth **** with the SR maf plugged in. Unplugged it was fine but wouldn't rev high. I just put in a MAF from my ka24e and it fixed my problems.
