Ok I realize this may sound stupid but will an exhaust system for an SR bolt onto a KA? The reason I'm asking is because I was just wondering if it would be possible to fit a Fujitsubo exhaust (designed and made for the SR) onto a KA S14? If it is the same then would that mean we'd be able to use other exhaust setups that aren't traditionally thought of for the KA IE the FUjitsubo or Top Secret exhausts.

if its a catback then ya it'll fit. as long as its made for a s14.

exhausts are chaissis specific, not engine specific. ANY S13, be it SR20/CA18/KA cat-back will fit. same goes for S14, any S14 exhaust will fit.

yup, all s13 and s14 exhausts will fit on every engine ,but please remeber that a SR exhaust will have bigger piping and that's not really a good thing if you KA is still NA. A turbo exhaust on a NA car will actually loose hp and sound like crap, trust me i've done it.

I've done it to. Gained HP and sounded better. It was a 3 incher too.

The KA, even in NA form, responds quite well to large diameter exhausts, so I doubt that you've "done it" on a 240sx. Maybe other motors suffer with a larger catback, but the KA is actually very different from many import four bangers. Think about that and do some searches. This argument has been going on for a LONG time...

ya which ones. guessing maybe a s14 cuz the s14 header is 3 bolt flange and so is a sr downpipe.

That is teh hotness then, so why isn't anyone running a TOp Secret or Fujitsubo exhaust on their KA, and if you do have one what does it sound like. I really wish there was a huge database of sound files that has all the various exhausts on an engine in vatying state of tune. If its a 30 sec midi or wav file it really would take up that much space or bandwidth. This way you can judge what exhaust system you want.

From what I understand, Fujitsubo's are *really* hard to get. I wasn't aware there were any US distributors. Where are you getting yours?

Exhausts that are made to sound good on turbocharged engines wont neccesarily sound good on a KA. Mostly because there isn't a turbo to muffle the exhaust note.

I can't wait to hear how my exhaust made to sound awesome on an N/A car (and does) sounds after I get that turbo on.

Anybody got a KA-T with a BRM 3" plus resonator?

yeah, a turbo exhaust on a n/a is going to be very loud. they usually dont have any resonators besides the staright through muffler at the end, because the turbo does act as somewhat of a resonator. plus, they arent engineered and dyno tested for a ka, which means it wont make near as much power as it would on the sr.

The exhausts will fit, just get the diameter you want. Doesn't matter what motor they were made for, they'll be the same thing.

it doesnt matter... you could put any exhaust on. you could put any exhaust on that you want but if you're NA you're gonna be louder than turbo.

There's a company in Washington State that has them, they are called Boom Plus Toys. heres the link: http://www.boomplustoys.net/Fujitsubo/

They have the Lagalis and Super Ti as well as the Super Ti downpipe for the 240sx, but be prpeared for sticker shick. the Super Ti is $800 before shipping. the front pipe alone is $335. They are an authoriize US distributor, come to think of it they are the only US distributor. check out the site, they have a 350Z eith the Legalis on ...

Edit: they are in Vancouver Canada, either way its not in Japan.l
