cant tell the exact location but it sounds as if its comin from the cams or somewhere in that area. Sounds like a very low, muffled click. A lot of time and money was put into the engine and I dont want it to go kaput. Am I just being paranoid or will I get owned by the motor?

clicking is usually a piston hitting a spark plug

How is that even possible?

Do you have aftermarket injectors? They can sometimes make clicking sounds when they open and close. If your unsure, take it to a shop or find someone with experience that can help you.

You should have deleted that as soon as you wrote that. IF a piston hits a plug then the wrist pin or con-rod is broken in which case you wont hear a click you will hear a BOOM! The only time a piston might hit a plug is if you have installed extended plugs which would be a no-no for any stock motor.

Clicking can be a number of things. Aftermarket injectors (Onizuka ), airbound lifters or just about anything in the valve train, coils, etc etc. Did you do the motor build or did someone else? Also is it there constantly or only on hard accel? Does it get louder on accel?

Could really use more info but at this point in time if you just finished the build i would lean towards airbound lifters. Give us some more info on parts installed and extent of the engine build.
