So the clip came in, and so far I couldn't be happier. I have noticed there is what appears to be some emissions stuff on top of the turbo heat shield. And lots of wires and hoses going into it. Can someone point me in some kind of direction as to what this is, or maybe a good vacuum line routing reference? So far I can think of 4 important hoses (FPR, Wastegate, BOV, idle control valve) can the rest be blocked off?

All I have is an inline vaccuum block to the intake manifold, fpr, wastegate, bov, and boost gauge sensor hooked up.

just take off the emissions stuff.tape up the connectors, and cap of the dump pipe where it connects to.the top right on the intake manifold goes to the bov.the top left goes to fpr and boost gauge.the bottom get capped.its for the charcoal can, which you dont need either.

Is there any more emissions than the EGR above the turbo? AIV?

*game show buzzer* That ain't no EGR. Dunno why folks think it's an EGR. It's the AIV. If you pull it, cap the hole in the elbow. If you're pulling all the emissions stuff, there's also the carbon canister.

Thought it was an EGR because it connected the intake air and the exhaust... AIV does the same thing... Huh.

Thanks. And the vacuum lines?

aiv = air induction valve. it pulls air in so the catalytic converter heats up faster and is used to reduce emissions.

egr = recirculates exhaust gas back through the intake to reduce combustion chamber temperatures.

Air flows in different directions in those systems although they may look like they do the same stuff.

The vac lines become a breeze after you pull all that other stuff. All you've got at that point is the two vac lines at the top of the throttle. One goes to your fpr and the other goes to your bov. You'll still pull the vac for your wastegate actuator off your intercooler piping.

Sweet.

What was the inline vacuum block Nick was talking about? And the stock boost pressure sensor is on the left strut tower, right?

pick that vac block up and toss it in the trash. oh yeah cap the vac nipple at the bottom of the intake manifold.
