I just swaped in my sr20det from a 95' clip (so its a black top s13). I put it into an 89 hatchback and am having problems geting it to turn over. The injectors are not getting any pulse to tell them to fire. I wired it exactly as explained on http://www.heavythrottle.com but the injectors are still not even getting any electrical signal to open up. If anybody has some suggestions on what to check, I would greatly appreciate it. I am pretty sure I got all the grounds. I don't really know where to start other than that.

isn't the ht diagram for the s13 to s13? The 95, you sure it's an s13 and not a s14? If it's an s14 might want to have a look at a s14 fsm and check it against the ht diagrams to make everything work. Good luck with that one.

got the problem solved just now. The coil packs weren't screwed in all the way and I guess that it didn't form a good enough ground there. I checked to see if I had spark and when I tightened the coil packs back on the injectors and coil packs both started working. I don't know what the deal was but it runs and I am happy to say the least. I will now get to enjoy the sr around town.

holy ****, if the coilpacks aren't screwed in it causes problems? I didnt think it mattered if they were screwed in or not, maybe thats one of my problems. Mine aren't screwed in at all.

no, my pile or **** doesnt start either, im getting spark and fuel so im guessing the timing is just fuc ked, I redid my battery area wiring to make sure it was right and im putting my harness back in on Sunday and bolting down my coilpacks to see if it will turn start, Is your fuel pump even coming on bryson? Or are the injectors just not spraying?

No the fuel pump comes on... the injectors are just dead to the world. This sucks because the wires that need power have power.

Dont be worried about the swap, just buy the swap from heavythrottle and have them do your wiring for you and do not take the cas out unless its broken!!! I bought my engine from a friend of a friend in Texas that owns a shop down there, the engine itself is in perfect condition and compression tested 152across all 4 cold. The only problems i had was the rest of the parts, my wiring harness plug for the ecu was broken when i got it and a lot of the plugs on the harness were broken, and I had a dead injector i didnt find out about till I bought upgraded injectors. Also my cam angle sensor was bad when i got it and he sent me a new one to put in and im having a ***** of a time timing it. I also bought a brand new wiring harness and did the wiring myself to save the 100bucks which was a mistake.

actually the way i tested my injectors to make sure they were sparying was by taking the fuel rail off with the injectors in it and then taking the cas out and spining it by hand to see if they were spraying. Try that. I also didnt think my injectors where spraying but when i spun the cas they were all plusing and spraying fuel, but it didn't look like they were spraying as much as they should be spraying.

If I had the money i would get from Heavythrottle. But I don't.... I plan on getting my sr from pulsar gtr. He is very reputable for CA's and he also can get a hold of SR's. Has anyone got a sr from him? Hope you get your problem fixed Bryson. I wouldn't be able to sleep if my motor wouldn't start!

yeah just get a swap from a good place, but send your harness to heavythrottle at least.
