Is there anyway to read a manufacture date code off the block of the SR. I found a number code near the transmission mating surface that could be a date code anyone know how to read it?

I know one way to determine if its a 93 block by lookin at the front of the engine the head I believe has a bunch of ridges like a ruffles potatoe chip. There are a couple of things to look for but I cant remember them.

try looking around your intake manifold. I had 2 (rubber) stamps on the runners and the plenum. Write the number back (should be 6 digits total and a period seperating every 2 digits) and I should be able to tell you when the manifold was made (gives an idea how old the engine is).
