sr clicking noise

hey my sr20det has a clicking noise around the intak manifold and the motor itself, what could it be? i dont know if its the manifold or the motor anyone have this??

could be your lifters tapping what kind of clicking is it?

Could just be noisy injectors...SR motors are notorious for injector noise. Mine is the same way. Just throwing it out there. Is it coming from the valvetrain?? You should be able to distinguish between the two. Just my two cents.

Another thing, does the noise rise with the RPM's? IF it doesn not it is porbably your injectors.....

does it increase with the rpm of the motor? are you low on oil?

its probably just your injectors

take a long screwdriver and put it to the injectors. If the clicking matches the one your hear it is the injectors. If it rises with engine RPM, hold the screwdriver to the head and listen to the end while you give it gas. Is the noise there?? Repeat process on the UOP. Youll know when you hear it, and youll find where the noise is coming from....

I'm glad you can relax man. I really freaked out the first time I noticed the clicking, LOL. If you have heard many SR's they almost all do it to an extent. Nothing to sweat

Once again, sorry to revive a dead thread but I'd figure I'd help out the lurkers. My injectors are pretty loud as well, and the sound does get louder when I rev the engine, is this normal?

if its a s14 sr then it might be the vtc, my motor had the same problem

No it's an s13 sr.
