Hey guys, I would really like to get a reliable 250-300 RWHP out of my SR, any suggestions on what I should put on. It's all stock right now. I don't know a whole bunch about fine tunning and all that but I would like to keep the boost between 9-15 if that is possible. So could you guys give me some ideas of parts to put on and about what numbers in boost that I will probbly see. Thanks :)

sounds good so far. Im not going to use a cat or anything I'm just gona straight pipe it from the down pipe. The engine isn't going to be smog legal out here in cali so Im not going to worry about any smog parts. Srry environment happy ppl, but if you want to do something get all the muscle cars of the road ;) Ummm... there isn't any way that I could make it smog legal is there? It would just save me some time from swapping back to the ka every 2 years for a smog check.

For your goals, you are going to need an upgraded turbo. I'd say that the minimum you'd get away with go as follows.

Intake3inch exhaustFMIC (front mount intercooler)Boost controllerT28 turbo550cc injectorsZ32 MAFS-AFC II or something similar to control the MAF and injectors

If you can live with a little bit less horsepower, you can run the stock turbo at 10-12psi. If that were the case, you don't need the injectors, MAF or S-AFC. You MIGHT not need the FMIC. 12psi will put you somewhere in the 210-230whp range.

Lots of luck with the project. Since you're in Cali, I'd suggest skipping the 3inch exhaust and getting some sort of custom y-dump pipe fabricated. That way you won't attract quite as much law enforcement attention.

Open up the exhaust, get a FMIC and then raise the boost to around 12-14psi. Should net you in the 230-250rwhp range.

I'd say there's no point in spending an extra $1.5k for new injectors, MAF, ECU and turbo just to make ~30whp more. It'll be faster, but for almost the same $1.5k you could make 300-350rwhp with just a hair more lag and more boost.

Hybrid makes an intercooler kit for my car right? (89 Hatch) I have heard that these are pretty good FMIC's. Anyone heard otherwise? I would also need a turbo timer and a boost controler that would be able to turn up my boost right? (Sorry guys but im just used to N/A engines)

I wouldnt say turbo timer. They are nice and if you get one for a steal then by all mean get it. Its like AC dont have to have it its just nice to. For reg/med driving i let it idle for 30 seconds and if i've been pushing it i let it idle for like 1 min or longer just how anchious i am to get out of the car.
