I just picked up this 240 yesterday that has a fresh stock sr with the 240sxmotoring swap package. Off the bat i bought the car with a huge mani leak and i'm guessing this guy never wrenched on anything b/c all i had to do was tighten the mani down and it's all good now. Anyways i reset the ecu by pullin the positive off and then i took it for a spin. It has somewhat of a bogging issue, like it's holding back and i have the slightest clue what it can be. It's only getting about 6 psi of boost and the vac is going no less then -6. At part throttle it's fine but if i go w.o.t it is most def is bogging out. This is a totally stock motor with what seems to be a very clean swap so it doesn't look like anything is hacked. It's not throwing a code or anything either. I don't know if this is a common issue with sr's and or if it can be diagnosed via internet. did a runover of everything (ic pipes, sensors ect ect) and all seems to look okay but i might be overlooking something. I am a KA-T guy so i honestly don't know ANYTHING about these motors. I was just looking for a reliable 240 with some simple bolt on to do some drift fun and throw this pile of goodies i have sitting around on. I'm located in south jerz and can meet with anyone who can possibly give me some help. I will pay you with beer:thumbsup

My CA had bogging issues. It turned out to be my fuel pressure was to low. I'd something so simple to check that its worth trying.

Do you mean you have -6 inHg of vacuum at idle? I hope thats not what you mean.

That means you have a huge vacuum leak or no compression with a vacuum reading that low. At idle you should have -18 to -20 inHg. Get your hands on a compression tester.

did a compression check and i was 135-140 across the board. Did a vac check everywhere and i am at -17. I cannot check my fuel pressure right now but any other suggestions. I have a red-top sr w/ about 50 thous on it.

Check fuel pressure. You could also try cleaning the MAF. Thats all I have suggestion wise.
