Hey guys, I just finished my sr swap and got it to start. The only problem is that if I give it gas it bogs down and wants to die. I am thinking it vacuum... Any help would be very appreciated.

Could be a fuel issue. Make sure your pump is good and don't have any clogged filters(including the one in your tank). Had problems in mine with bogging down and the filter in my tank was clogged. Fixed it and no further problems.

Its a brand new 255LPH fuel pump with a 6" long sock and a 300zxTT fuel filter. Could it be the TPS?

what rpm is it bogging down at, or completly cuts off at? does it idle real rough, forcing you to feather the gas pedal? and are you sure all the vacuum/pressure hoses are routed properly?

I am pretty sure I do. I was kind of confused because of the emissions removal. I would say about 3k. It was a SOHC so I dont have a tach hooked up at the moment. It will almost die instantly if I give it gas too fast.

hmm.. i was first thinking it's an air leak.

one day my hotpipe came out of it's coupling. in the middle of the night and on the side of the road, i couldn't immediately pin-point the problem. the next day, a guy i knew said, "it's an air leak, guaranteed."

symptoms were: real rough idle, motor really wants to die. to build rpms i had to feather the gas. too MUCH gas caused it to bog down and die instantly. my mileage was horrible; went through about 1/2 tank driving home that night (it's normally a 15 minute drive, stop and go).check all your piping, look for cracks on any plastic or rubber parts.

also, your motor is MAF, right? i don't know much about the ka motors; mine's an sr. my MAF sensor is right after the intake filter. make sure your connection is solid.

i'm just shooting in the dark, but check your TPS and if it's still effed-up, check the wires on your MAF, with a voltmeter i guess.

anybody else wanna chime in?

for the TPShttp://www.240sx.org/faq/artic...m.htm

for the MAF... scroll to "MAF testing"zerothread/254283

good luck! and i hope i don't make your problem worse. haha

Well I have an sr im wondering if its because Im using the SOHC mafs. Could me running no exhaust after the turbo elbow do this? Maybe not enough back pressure?? Thanks man im gonna check my piping and my Mafs.

so that was it then? just a couple of wires? if that's the case, then yay! a cheap fix. i always feel like a douche when i dork up something really simple, but at the same time it's nice knowing i didn't blow a bunch of money fixing it.also, running no exhaust will cause the motor to run a little funny. during my turbo swap, i really effed up the studs on my turbo elbow. i think i accidentally threw it about 20 feet in my downstairs parking lot i ran the car for a couple days with just the elbow on, and it bogged a little, and idle was crap.when i finished the swap, i actually spent a day and a half trying to figure out why my motor wouldn't run. i KNEW it couldn't be the MAF, because i checked it earlier and made sure the clip was on tight.guess what the problem was..?i accidentally unclipped the MAF, and i was too stuck on believing that couldn't have been the problem.

any more issues with your engine?

What it was, was I had the a pin in the c pin out and the c pin in the a pin out. I felt dumb. My TPS was also only reading half of what it should have been. It still bogs down a bit... Im thinking it just because I basically have no exhaust and I am using the SOHC mafs. Because it only bogs down at high RPMs and that would be when the mafs is being more restrictive.
