Thanks for the reply. Guy said that it over heated so I'm going to have them check for both head and block if its needs to be milled.tenkawa_akito wrote:the head parts and bits probably don't need to be replaced, but if the car overheated, the head is more than likely warped. In that case, a machine shop will have to mill it back to flat. Also, i would check the block for any warpage and if it's warped, have that milled as well.
just look in the phonebook for a machine shop that will do automotive workBomexS13 wrote:Thanks for the reply. Guy said that it over heated so I'm going to have them check for both head and block if its needs to be milled.
Does anybody know where I can do this in around So Cali? Thanks.
By any chance you can give me some info about the shop? Email it to me, [email protected]S13GUY wrote:Replacing the head gasket is a bit of work, and if you blew the gasket from heat you may have warped the head. You may need to get the head machined or get a new one. This can be the price of a different engine if you get it done at a shop. You could still drive your car like this but dont expect to get much more life out of the engine. If you wanted to do a swap now is the time to sit down and make a choice.
I also know of a couple places in La Habra.
