I've been trying to figure this out for sometime, but I can't find an answer anywhere. Are all the blocks the same from the S13 to the S15? I understand that the S14/S15 have a different head, but are the bottom-end's interchangeable with each other? Reason I'm asking, is I'm looking for a spare block to build up on and I don't want to purchase an S13 block if my S14 head won't bolt up to it.

For the most part I think they are, I just want some people to confirm this for me. Thanks in advance, Glenn.

you can bolt a s14 head to a s13 block but you wont be able to use VTC because there is a oil port in the s14 block from the VTC.

The embossing is different for the water pump as well between the S13 and S14/S15. The later models are identical, but they are not like the first model.
