doing some light cruising today, and my engine just shuts down. Tried starting it back up, nothing. I checked my fuel pressure and noticed my fuel pump wasnt kicking on so i checked the wiring and the fuse everything was fine. So i jumped the fuel pump to a 12v source and it still didnt start. I did notice the smell of burning electronics when this originally happened so im down to the ecu i opened it up and didnt see any burns anywhere on the board then i tried to pull some ecu codes and the light didnt even turn on. I'm lost on what to do, is there any way i can check the ecu? Anything else i can try?

sounds like a short that killed the ecu. Remedy is to get another and pop it in. You could check the wiring harness and see what shorted out. You could check the o2 sensor wiring due to the heat the down pipe creates.

confirmed ecu power and fuel pump relay is getting 12v at the ecu, still the fuel pump wont kick on. Check power at the EGI pump relay thats good. Is there anything else in the ecu that controls the fuel pump? I also noticed i dont have any injector pulse

check the fuel pump wire coming from the ecu. Is it sending a pulse signal to the pump? I do think your ecu is dead due to the red light not coming on.

thats whats weird, i checked for voltage from inside the ecu at the fuel pump relay pin at it had a constant 12v. I guess ill have to check the wire all the way through the car. Where is the fuel pump relay?

Sounds like you killed your ground... There's a relay under the hood that needs a ground. The ecu has a spot that goes with the fuel pump that tends to short out. When this happens, you lose your fuel pump. I rigged up my own ground when my car did this the first time. Although, it's apparently, an easy fix... JWT fixed mine when they did my rom tune, and never even mentioned it...

it was my ecu, must have been that ground your talking about must have fried something for the injectors too.
