thanks rbtodd for the help/post.. finally decided to register for this forum. Nico rocks. K, to get back on my problem with the SR.... the motor runs fine, idle is okay but was better before this problem accured. but the problem i am having has nothing to do with RPM/speed. When WOT or trying to make somewhat of boost, the car just sputters and missfires badly but does not shut down. what could cause this to happen. almost a 100% sure no leaks, the turbo is fine(no shaft play or anything), and most of all, the SR does not have some kinda of funky smoke coming out. it almost seems like at WOT or trying to make boost the motor isnt recieving any fuel or air. but its not true! RB20detodd saw from behind when i smoked him and his rb(lie, followed with sarcasim) that my car was running hella rich. that was driving normal. but with accelleration, my SAFC2 tells me that my air is decreasing oddly. well the problem still remains a mystery. help is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

things we checked.

maf.turboleaksworn sealsall were fine

What are your settings on your afc-2 and is afc-2 your most recent electrical component install? Did your problem happen after or before afc-2 install?

sounds like possibly a tps issue.

Either a TPS or Knock Sensor issue.

Hook up the S-AFC and it will tell you the knock meter value.

Can be used to your advantage, just don't program anything into it.

What are your spark plugs gapped at? I jsut boosted my ka and it idled fine and I could slowly accelerate. But if I went WOT my car would sputter and backfire etc. Pulled my plugs and they were gapped to .065 Bought some new NGK's and gapped them to 32 and car become a beast.. Hope it's somehting simple like that.

Please note that the car has idle issues as well.

With the AFC still hooked up, you can get the throttle voltage readings from the AFC down to what 3 decimal places? With the car in the "on" position, but don't start it. When you depress the throttle, you should see the TPS voltage go from 0.0 to I think it was 0.450v.

tps readign is at .40v when throttle is closedWOT tps is at 3.965v

got the reading through my afc controller.. did a lot of searching on where the tps voltage should be.. is .40v okay? since a lot are sying .45v.. if the tps is fine, then i am going to start checking compression and coil/spark.. desperate messures now. help is appreciated. thanks

So looks like your tps is bad. It should go from 0v closed to 0.45v at wot.

WRONG 180FAN!!!! WRONG!!!!

closed at idle should be any where from .35 to .65I choose .45

oK!!!

and at WOT it should get a reading at like 4.01 or something

TPS should never read 0V OK!

TPS isnt bad! yours is in fact in spec!!!!!

i would check your spark plug gap....check your coilpacks...check your ECU for codes too!!

diagnosed the car the other day, got a code 55..a day later, i recieved the same code.. it is obvious that there is something wrong with the car! tonight i advanced the CAS it got rid of some popping noise and the idle was more smooth. drove the car and it was a lil bit better than what it was. but it still runs like crap. the question is, could it be the timing? how is it possible to misstime a individual coil in the first place.. lmk.. thanks

see i'm having the same problem, car doesn't idle right, when u give it like 20% throttle the engine bucks/hesitates for 1-2 secs then goes ok. now i know i need a new TPS. greddy fmic just installed, so should be no leaks. timing was set before i replaced two coil packs. new MAF, voltage from MAF to ecu was good.

so basictly his TPS was good and the car still ran bad. so what else should i be lookin for when i get a new TPS and my car still runs like $hit?

just with a timing gun hooked up to a coil pack, then adjust the CAS until the needle above the pully lines up with second mark on the right. which is 15 degrees
