Ive noticed lately that my sr is backfireing a bit... as in it will idle fine the pop.... pop..........................pop.....

But then today.... after i got on it a bit ( lovely mustang put to sleep by the sr ) i stoped at the redlight and then i hear a LOUD POP... loudest ive ever heard..... the guys in the stang said they saw a lil puff of fire... i know this means i was running rich a lil bit at the time... but... my main question is... when you guys let ur car sit there and idle... do u hear that pop sound once in a while.... im know its the turbo but... just sounds a lil odd......

lemme know

Thanks jeff.

It's normal.. Mine will backfire especially if I get on it real hard then let off the gas or between 1st and 2nd shift if i get on it hard. But mine really doesn't pop when idling. just if i rev it a few times. I like the big fire balls at night. those are the coolest

Mine doesn't backfire during idle. Only high revving will make my car backfire.

Might be your plug gaps are a bit high and it's loading up on fuel (but that's more of a higher RPM thing) I'd see if your BOV is leaking as well.
