cold winter weather has basically b**chsmacked new york area with frost and crappy startups wich made me think, how will the sr motor handle this chilli weather. i know cold air does wonders for the motors performance but should i worry about the oil, and coolant lines for the turbo? should i take any precautions if any? this is my daily driver and first boosted motor so it would be hella tight if you guys could put my overly active worried mind to rest!

Thanks

well if you use performance coolant like redline water wetter, make sure you flush it out and fill it with a good 50/50 or so mixture of coolant. If you're really worried about cold start ups, maybe invest in an Optima redtop battery would be nice. I live in nyc to and one problem I have is having the transmission pretty cold when I start it up. Make sure you warm it up a bit before you start switch gear or you might grind it occassionally. That or switch it to a thicker gear oil. Also if you want, some people change to a thicker motor oil. i've stuck with my 10-30w all year and really haven't had much problems thought, but i keep my sr garaged. hope this helps
