I searched but haven't seen any other mention of this problem but my clutch sqweaks like an old barn door sometimes.....other times it doesn't. It is the most annoying sound you could imagine other than a rod knock. I tried to see if I could figure it out by getting under the dash and listening for the source while pumping the pedal but can't seem to put my finger on it. Has anyone else exeprienced this problem? If so, how did you fix it? Other than that, I bought the car in June of last year and it had a bad right rear wheel bearing. I just noticed the same sound again last week and, as before, it's getting worse. I'm leaning toward a desgin problem.......or maybe it's just my luck. I obviously have a cd player issue too and frequently have to smack the console to get the sound coming back out right. It's like there's some kind of a short in the system. I think I've actually seen something about that here before but I hardly have time to log on. I'll see if I can find it again sometime this week. For now, it's off to bed for another 12 to 15 hour day tomorrow.

Throw-out bearing or your clutch pedal can cause squeaking sounds. How many miles on the clutch? It may be time to go aftermarket.

This is definitely inside the car. I have no idea if it's the original clutch because the car had 71,000 on it when I bought it in June of last year and it has 90,000 on it now. The clutch itself engages smoothly with absolutely zero slippage. The bearing does make a little noise when in neutral and no pressure on the pedal but I've heard that in several cars throughout the years. I believe I even read about it with these cars somewhere on the forum after I got the car. It's been a crazy year or so since then and I rarely have time to focus as much on the car as I'd like to. I haven't dug into it but it appears that the plunger on the firewall, or something in that area, is the culprit. Like I said, it's hard to pinpoint. The funny thing is that it doesn't always do it. Actually, after about 30 minutes of highway driving it stops. It's just a crap shoot any other time. Some days it squeeks so badly I won't ride with the windows down. Yeah, it can get that annoying and embarressing, especially when slowly pushing or releasing it. It sounds alot like a sqweak along with a spring binding up.

I'd spray some white lithium grease on anything that moves in the pedal. If it doesn't get any better then it's something closer to the clutch.

I tried some wd40 on a couple of spots. I'll try to dig into it this weekend but I'm 99% sure it's something inside. It's possible something else might be wrong but that sound is definitely coming from underneath the dash. I've actually got some lith grease that I use on my trailer ball lying around somewhere. Thanks for the input.
