So i just recently purchased a '92 w/122k mi. It def needs some TLC and some noise issues addressed. The most annoying right now is the clutch pedal. It squeeks when the pedal is pressed in & just makes the car sound antique, how can i get rid of this? Add grease? Adjust pedal?

My second noise issue is when i reverse. I get a kind of whinning noise just for a few seconds then it goes away, but it happends either while i'm reversing or when i brake after i reverse to switch into 1st. It's coming from the rear passenger fender area. I heard that the ABS system can be a little noisy but this sounds a little too loud to be factory noise. It definately sounds electrical but have no i dea where to begin. Maybe the reverse light?

It's the ABS motor. My 2+2 does it as well. Usually on first startup, it will do it when I'm backing out of a spot and like you said, braking to go forward. I don't see it as a potential threat to your car, as mine has been doing it for at least 5 years with no problems whatsoever.

As far as the clutch pedal, might just wanna lay down some rags and spray some lubricant at the hinge point of the clutch.

Ok, I'll give the lubricant spray a try today, and as far as the ABS motor, is there any way to quiet it down or block the sound some? Maybe replacing the motor? And I'm sure they don't do this from the factory....maybe this gradually develops over time as the motor ages? Thanks for the reply & props to another TN Z32.

You could always pull the ABS fuse..... It's 9 times out of 10 hindered me vice helping, mostly on the track. I much prefer to be able to feel what my brakes are doing, not let a computer decide for me.

Where in TN are you located, BTW? I'm currently stationed out in California and have both my Zs out here.

Cool, i'll give try pulling the fuse & see what the diff is like. So u prefer driving with non-ABS? How would it be for daily driving & how does it brake differently for you? A lil WD40 fixed the squeeky clutch pedal like a charm btw. Also I'm in Knoxville.

No difference. The only difference is, when you start to experience wheel skid, the ABS pump won't engage. You'll have to manually let off the brake in order to control the skid. So when braking at traction limit, the pump will not engage and pulse the pedal.
