squeeking sound from the front!!??

Hi,

I have a 94 Q45 and my car periodically will make a squeeking sound coming from the front (either left or right) especially when going over a bump. Sounds like some kind of suspencion issue. Is it time for new shocks? struts? lower/upper arms!??

When were tension rod bushings and upper links last done?

They're believed to be original. I doubt previous owner every changed them. But why would it go away and come back again in a few days or weeks?

Yep, it's upper links. I'd strongly advise you to also do the third link/kingpin, too, an extra $200 in parts. The uppers are about $200. As maxnix suggested, your tension rod bushings are also probably shot - not making the noise, but they just don't last the life of the car. *Sigh*, and your shocks are probably shot, too.

You might want to think about biting the bullet, and doing it all. You'll be amazed at the improvement.

I'm getting a sound too. Not really a squaek, more of a creaky/groan coming from the front passenger side when going over bumps and really just standard driving. It was something that I noticed back in February, but it went away and was never heard from again. Then, last week, i noticed it again.

Just curious as to what it could be.

Apparently Murphy felt it appropriate to kick my arse with his laws in the last 3 weeks. Everything imaginable is going wrong right now.

Yeah, "creaky/groan" is a good description of the sound a worn upper link makes. Passenger side usually goes first. And I recently discovered that the third link/kingpins are prone to bending which throws off camber and caster - no adjustment, so you have to replace them too, to get alignment in spec.
